On Monday night time, John Oliver and Dustin Hoffman appeared on the 92nd Avenue Y for a panel on the movie Wag The Canine, in celebration of its 20th anniversary. Based on Deadline, attendees received far more than they bargained for. About 20 minutes in, Oliver determined to deliver up the present dialog all of Hollywood is having about sexual assault. For those who did not know, Hoffman was accused of grabbing manufacturing assistant Anna Graham Hunter on the set of TV film Dying of a Salesman. On the time, Hoffman was 48 and Hunter was 17.
“You’ve made one assertion in print,” Oliver requested. “Does that really feel like sufficient to you?”
Hoffman answered, “To start with, it didn’t occur, the best way she reported.” He added that the occasions “did not replicate him as an individual.”
That is when Oliver supposedly received fairly visibly aggravated, saying, “It’s that a part of the response to these items that pisses me off. It is reflective of who you have been. You’ve given no proof to point out that it didn’t occur. There was a time period while you have been creeping round girls. It looks like a cop-out to say, ‘Effectively, this isn’t me.’ Do you perceive how that looks like a dismissal?”
Issues escalated from there, with Hoffman angrily saying, “You weren’t there.”
To that, Oliver responded, “I’m glad.”
The argument supposedly lasted for awhile, and Oliver ultimately apologized for startling the viewers who had simply come to look at Wag The Canine.
However he stated:
“I can’t go away sure issues unaddressed. That results in me at dwelling later tonight hating myself, asking, ‘Why the f–okay didn’t I say one thing? Nobody stands as much as highly effective males.’”
